Europa Park

It was Anne and Kyle’s turn to escape to Beaune, so we watched Max for the weekend and took him to one of our favorite weekend destinations – Europa Park. We’ve probably been to this place around ten times already, doing our best to justify the outrageous season tickets we purchased last fall. It’s an easy hour drive from Basel and a great way to tire out rambunctious boys (especially before a sleepover)!

The European-themed rides are organized by country, and the boys love running from one Disneyland-knockoff to the next. Eli and Ethan’s favorites usually include “the pirate ride” (picture Pirates of the Caribbean with poor animatronics), “the dino ride”, “the mushroom ride” and the “cars”, but today they discovered the joys (?) of soaking water rides. Luckily, we all dried off on the walk back to the car. Unlucklily, all three boys fell asleep on the car ride home, destroying our chances of an easy bedtime!
